‘I’ll be the next Abia governor’ — Doris Ogala says nothing can stop her, decries lack of electricity

The Abia State governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Doris Ogala, has declared that she will emerge as the next governor of the state, insisting that nothing can stop her from achieving her ambition.

Speaking during a television interview, Ogala expressed confidence in her chances, saying she believes she is better prepared than other contenders for the governorship position.

“I will be the next governor of Abia State. Nothing is going to stop it. I am so sure, and I know it because I’m better than all of them,” she said.

The AAC candidate also criticised the state of infrastructure and electricity in Abia, claiming that she had spent three months in the state and had been living without electricity at her family home.

“I have been in Abia State for three good months. No light. I sleep in my family house. I don’t have light,” she said.

Ogala argued that the current administration had not done enough to address the challenges facing residents, particularly in areas affected by poor electricity supply and infrastructure deficits.

She also challenged the state governor to dispute her claim regarding the construction of a road in the area, alleging that the project was executed by a previous administration rather than the current government.

“I’m saying this on national TV. I dared the governor to challenge me. He didn’t build Area Area,” she alleged.

Ogala further referenced the condition of roads in parts of the state, recalling periods when residents reportedly struggled to access markets because of flooding and poor infrastructure.

She maintained that the challenges facing residents demonstrate the need for a change in leadership, while presenting her governorship ambition as a “divine mandate” under her campaign slogan, “Come to Common Sense, My People.”
